2/29/04 -- The Disassembly Continues
 We're continuing to dismantle the car.  It's really well made, in my opinion.  It's also a far cry from a Spec Racer.

 

 

 

Now we've got both side pods and floor removed.  Here you can see the splitter pretty clearly.

 

 

 

 

 

 


This is the top side of the splitter. The splitter is made of both fiberglass (for the area beneath the nose and the "tunnels") and some kind of plywood laminate for the splitter itself.

The nose is now removed and you can see the steering and the master cylinders.  You can also see where the crush box will go.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

A close-up of the nose.  Unfortunately, the shape of the nose isn't the same as on the Formula car...so if you want to convert, this must change...along with the shock cover.
